Joining the Crew
Becoming part of the Kernow Crew is straightforward and open to anyone who shares our passion for motorcycling and our respect for the armed forces community. Whether you are a military veteran, currently serving, or a civilian supporter who wants to ride for a good cause, you’ll find a warm, friendly welcome here. You don’t need a specific make or size of bike to join us on the road—if it’s road-legal, safe, and can keep up with national speed limits, you’re good to go.
Getting started is as easy as reaching out or turning up to one of our public meets. You can drop us a message through our website or social media to introduce yourself, or simply roll up to our next local ride-out or monthly meetup to meet the team in person. Come along, grab a coffee, have a chat with our members, and see if the crew feels like the right fit for you.
Once you’re ready to officially sign up, you can register through the main Armed Forces Bikers (AFB) charity website to select Kernow as your local region. From there, you’ll get full access to our private event chats, upcoming ride itineraries, and crew merchandise. Whether you want to ride with us every weekend, help out with local fundraising events, or just enjoy the social side, there’s a place for you in the family.

Becoming a Full Patched Member
When you first join the Kernow Crew, you’ll start out as a probationer. This gives you time to ride with the group, get involved with local events, and get to know the crew while we get to know you. During this probationary period, you’ll be invited to join our community channels, attend regional ride-outs, and participate in at least one national event. Once you’ve fulfilled these requirements and your Regional Rep approves your application, you’ll be recommended for full membership and awarded your official Armed Forces Bikers (AFB) patches to wear with pride on your cut or jacket.
Maintaining Your Annual Membership
Keeping your status as a full member is straightforward and handled online through our central membership portal. Every year, you’ll renew your annual subscription (£25), which goes directly toward supporting the charity’s operational efforts and veteran grants. To maintain your full active membership, you’ll need to remain engaged with the crew—attending local ride-outs, helping at fundraising stalls, and completing at least one national event each year. Keep your contact details up to date, keep supporting the cause, and you’ll remain an active part of the AFB family year after year.
